Awesome. It's like having the pocket space of a coat in your shorts. Perfect for dorks like me who carry a hundred things in their pockets. And the stretchy waist band is top notch, maybe too top notch. The fabric they use for the hidden cargo pockets is insanely breathable, and I run pretty warm. And the belt loops are very secure. Now the cons that need tweaking:It's 2021. 100% cotton will always be an inferior fabric. It's hot, it's wicks moisture slowly, and OMG these shorts rinkle worse than any ive seen. A quick steam or iron fixes it, but come on. A bit of stretch added to the fabric would be great too.Theyre also quite wide by the knees, and it's more noticable if you're slender. I'm 5'9" about 150lbs. I understand it's to keep the hidden pockets nice and large, but a slimmer smaller pocket option would be nice. And the hidden pockets kind of float loosely under the shorts. Its not a problem until you try and pull out something and the inside pocket tries to come out with you. It won't, but it would help if they just stitched the inside pocket down a bit.And the biggest issue. The price. It's super tough to justify $80 for a pair of shorts. If it's the fancy multilayer stretch waist band thing that's making it so expensive, than take it away. A super stretch waist band is nice, but not that nice.So I love these shorts. But I will not be buying another pair until they update the design, lower the price, or I hit the lotonothing to dislikeThe fit and feel of the shorts is fine. I like the heavy weight of the shorts which works good for mild weather. As others have noted if these are advertised as being good for security, two of the front pockets should have zippers. Objects in the deep pockets sit in front of the leg. Walking is more comfortable if they were on the side of the leg, as with most pants and shorts. The back pockets would be more effective with a tighter closure. The zipper is a real problem. Did a man design these shorts? The zipper should be longer. I'm not sure of the value of the hidden pockets in the interior of the shorts. They might have been more useful with a discrete opening on the top of the shorts.$100 is way overpriced for these shorts. I regret that I did not return them. Teren seems to have some good designs.Like others, I took a trip to Italy and purchased these for an added layer of security. Overall the shorts are decent enough, but in terms of security features sorely lacking. The two deep front pockets were nice as they went all the way down to the hem and I felt secure with that design. They advertise eight pockets but maybe I failed math class as I can't find eight. All of the pockets lacked snaps or a zipper for added security. I would have returned them if less time had elapsed. I had a few shirts that had breast pockets with zippers that I used with COMPLETE confidence. My money and passport were well secured.Basically a comfortable pair of shorts with a deep pocket for $100. A ripoff.I've loved the ScotteVest brand since I found them on ThinkGeek like a decade ago. Own a couple coats, and now these shorts, and they're just as exceptional as always. Always a great fit, quality material, and I can never have enough pockets.I bought these shorts for an Italy vacation. Specifically, I was looking for shorts that would provide some security against pick pocketing which is prevalent in tourist locations. These shorts were very comfortable and offered extremely deep front pockets on both the left and right which enhanced security. My only suggestions for improving these shorts is to first replace the silly magnetic closure on the rear pockets with a small flap with zippers; similar to the Travelsmith shorts. Secondly, offer an option of these shorts made from synthetic material. We traveled carry-on only for ten days and did laundry in the sinks. These 100% cotton shorts took too long to dry. Overall, great and comfortable shorts. Well made.I had my doubt but I love the design and durability of this shorts. Pockets are hidden and spacious. They actually take up the negative space that most shorts give so no pocket content bumps.Although the shorts could be a little longer in the groin, the fit is pretty good. The deep pockets are great, although it would be better if the shorts had at least one pocket that had a zipper so as to make them just a little more secure.
